Meet Your Guide

""My goal is to share knowledge and skills of paddling and working on the water to empower people, to embark on their own adventures. Promoting 'Leave No Trace' ethics and respecting wildlife in the process."

Brian is a Port Alberni local with a lifelong passion for paddling. He recalls his first canoeing experience vividly, at the age of roughly 7, on Sproat Lake, BC, where he crossed the lake to marvel at a giant Western Red Cedar. This early adventure sparked Brian's love for paddling, leading him to participate in canoeing activities with Army cadets and the school district. In 2010, Brian studied at Western Maritime Institute, which paved the way for his first job on the water as a deckhand on the tugboats, towing logs in the Alberni Inlet. His journey continued with stints at lifeboat stations with the Canadian Coast Guard and most recently with Seaspan Marine in North Vancouver. Now, drawing from years of maritime experience, Brian invites you to join him for a day of adventure in the Alberni Valley.
